NECO Trains Phnum Rai Youth in Research Methodology

In a commendable initiative, the North-Eastern Cottage Organization recently conducted a comprehensive training program on Research Methodology. The three-day workshop, held in Phnum Rai Village, was attended by 27 enthusiastic young individuals from the local community. Following the training, the participants were given an additional three days to put their newly acquired skills into practice, focusing specifically on data collection techniques. This hands-on approach ensured that the theoretical knowledge gained during the training was effectively translated into practical skills. The event marks a significant step towards empowering the youth of Phnum Rai Village with essential research capabilities.

In the course of the training period, young participants engaged in active dialogue and meticulously crafted questionnaires. Subsequently, they identified specific individuals and locales as the focus of their data collection efforts. This intensive process spanned the final three days of the training.

Following the training, the youth were divided into two research teams. The Customary Research Team focused on interviewing village elders. Meanwhile, the Agrifood System Research Team interacted with farmers in their work environments. This division allowed for a diverse range of data collection. The approach ensured a comprehensive understanding of both customary practices and agrifood systems.
